Dr. Casey is a highly experienced specialist general practitioner who has been serving the Illawarra for the past nine years. He is known for his compassion and holistic care. Currently available through the Consulting rooms of the Illawarra Family Medical Centre, Wollongong.
ABOUT
Dr. Casey graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging) from Charles Sturt University in 2001, where he was awarded the prestigious University Medal. He then worked extensively in radiography across Australia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland before completing his MBBS with honours at the University of Wollongong in 2012.
Following his medical degree, Dr. Casey completed postgraduate hospital training in Perth, gaining experience across multiple specialties, including emergency medicine, psychiatry, paediatrics, palliative care, cardiology, and geriatrics. During his first year, he was twice nominated for Intern of the Year.
Dr. Casey transitioned to general practice in 2015 and was awarded Fellowship by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2017. Since then, he has contributed to medical education at the University of Wollongong, supervising GP registrars and participating in examination marking for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and completed additional training in Aesthetic Medicine and Nutrition.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Casey enjoys music and plays the saxophone, guitar, and piano. He also maintains an active lifestyle, enjoying tennis, swimming, and cycling.
